Lovely little cafe near China Town in Vancouver with a minimalist decor and yet a cosy feel. Good coffee plus a print out of a crossword. No better way to rest a bit after a long walk.

Just one of our random finds while exploring Whistler. Pimp my bike!

Gyoza King in downtown Vancouver. From the moment we crossed the door it took us back to Japan. Everything we tried was delicious and the service Japanese-friendly. They also brew their own beer, worth the visit just to try it. And to top it all off, Yoda offers you a mint on your way out.

Bold lines, interesting shapes and bright colours give the west coast of Canada a strong cultural identity. The way they tell a story in such a beautiful and graphic way inspired us.

We've just switched electricity companies to Ecotricity. They are a tiny bit more expensive (they price-match the big supplier's standard tariffs) but they supply as much 'green' energy as possible and invest their profits into building more renewable energy sources. We can all make a little difference!

Two great discoveries in the same street (Calle Princesa) in Barcelona. Komomoto is a Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant with amazing food and cool interior.

BarcelonaReykjavik is an organic bakery with a sustainable ethos, plus their bread and cakes are delicious. Totally worth the extra kilos!

We just got back from this year's OFFF conference in Barcelona. Always chaotic but always inspiring, our highlights were Alex Trochut, Mr Kone, Keetra Dean Dixon and of course the legendary Stefan Sagmeister.

We just donated to help Greenpeace build the new Rainbow Warrior. A fantastic website lets you choose what bits of the boat you'd like to fund. We went for a few mechanical bits and pieces, plus of course some bright orange paint!

We recently discovered a really nice cafe called The Counter about 10mins walk away - great coffee and sandwiches. If you're ever near the Olympic Stadium check it out!
